B-25 Mitchell


The B-25 Mitchell is a twin-engine moderate American bomber was built by North American Aviation.

She was named after General Billy Mitchell a pioneer of US military aviation. The B-25 was used at each venue of the Second World War and even after the war by the air forces of other nations (which Indonesian Air Force presented the last ones in 1979 out of service). Until the end of production almost 10,000 aircraft were built in several variants.

The B-25J was the last production model of Mitchell and a mixture of the B-B and 25C-25H. She was factory equipped with a glass cockpit. The RAF received 316 of these aircraft which they put under the name Mitchel III in service. In total 4318 aircraft of this version were built.
