Standard colors of Israeli aircraft from 1948 till 1967
In the early years of independence Israeli Air Force used a variety of camouflages – the first aircraft used a scheme of unspecified green and brown colors, later supplemented by standard RAF colors used on Spitfires and natural metal finish of Mustangs and Mosquitoes. Avia S-199 was the only type painted in Reed Green. In 1955 a new standard camouflage of Grey-Blue and Medium Brown over Silk Grey was introduced for use on all IAF aircraft except for so-called „leading fighters†that used overall aluminum (natural metal) finish instead.
Contains the following colors (lacquer based paints, optimized for use with airbrush):
HTK-C170 – Reed Green – RAL6013, overall color of Avia S-199s (Czechoslovakian copy of Bf 109G with Junkers Jumo 211 F engine) – first fighters of IAF
HTK-C171 – Grey-Blue – RAL5008, used for upper surfaces in standard camouflage of IAF used from 1955 till 1967 on all types of aircraft (excl. leading fighters)
